Co-Founder & MANAGING Director

“MosaicLab enables me to utilise and build on my skills and experiences and help further the practice of engagement for others.”
- Nicole Hunter

Nicole co-founded MosaicLab (with Keith Greaves and Kimbra White) in 2017 because she is passionate about genuine democracy and developing and delivering robust engagement processes.

She believes everyday people can do amazing things when they are given adequate time and information. Nicole particularly enjoys seeing groups make bold decisions and is frequently inspired by participant transformations during a process.

Nicole is an experienced facilitator specialising in deliberative engagement, strategic planning, negotiation and risk communication. Known for her collaborative, efficient approach and outstanding skills in project management and process co-design, Nicole is comfortable working with outrage and conflict. She is the calm voice you want in the room when energy and emotions become highly charged.

Her background has allowed her to work across a diverse range of industries, and she is able to quickly understand a broad range of issues and subjects.

She is committed to finding collaborative solutions to complex problems through deliberation and dialogue and excels at activating a group and tapping into what people really think and feel.

Participants consistently report that her sessions make them feel heard.

Nicole has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Hons) and a Certificate in Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Engagement (University of Sydney).

She has more than 25 years’ experience working across government and private sector projects. Nicole is a former board member of the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Australasia.

You might not know this about Nicole ...
She grew up in Shepparton, Victoria and has also lived in Dubai. Some of the things Nic loves include: making everything straight and lined up, chai teas (but not with powder), backpacks with lots of zips and compartments and getting outside in the sun!
