SPREADING THE GOVLOVE WITH TALES OF DELIBERATION

USA Podcast About Our Book

MosaicLab Directors Nicole Hunter and Keith Graves were excited to feature on a recent episode of the USA-produced GovLove podcast.

The Engaging Local Government Leaders podcast dropped just before Christmas and included lots of great discussion about the big MosaicLab book, Facilitating Deliberation – A Practical Guide.

In a broad-ranging and fascinating chat, Nic and Keith discuss:

  • their backgrounds and career paths that led to the formation of MosaicLab

  • why they wrote the book and the reason it's written as an instructional handbook

  • insights into online versus in-person deliberations

  • the hard work that goes into helping groups reach a decision

  • how deliberative democracy can positively impact local government

  • what goes into designing an engaging deliberation

  • strategies to address unconscious bias and polarisation

  • how to include all voices in a process.

The episode also features a fun lightning round at the start. Listen in to learn the following about Keith and Nicole:

  • their most controversial non-political opinions

  • which foods most people like but they don’t

  • the first music they ever bought and in what format.

THANKS FOR THE CHATS, PODCASTERS!

Below is a list of the podcasts we were fortunate to be a part of in 2022. If you would like to enquire about booking our directors for a podcast conversation about their book or any aspect of facilitating deliberation, please get in touch.
